Walmart Bankline vs Pathfinder Bankline Survival on a Shoestring

Survival Skills
This video kicks off a new series on low cost-high quality survival gear. I think I am going to call it Survival on a Shoestring. Does that sound too gimmicky?

Anyway, I decided to start the series by showing why low cost does not always mean better value (as if you really thought it did). I have always used Paracord as my main survival/camping cordage but I started seeing everyone recommending Bank Line, so I bought some at Walmart. Honestly, I was not impressed. So I decided to buy the stuff Dave Canterbury sells on his site just to see if there was much difference. See for yourself what I found out.

You can find the same bank line Dave sells on Amazon, if you have a Prime membership you will save some shipping. I actually prefer to buy from Dave because I like to support a fellow outdoorsman, but I know that every penny counts these days. That’s one reason I decided to do this “Shoestring” series.

Also, I found some tarred line on Amazon that is supposed to be braided, as opposed to twisted. I ordered some and will let you know if I like it better.
