Charred Fungus For Tinder – Natural Fire Resources

I’ve been hearing about Tinder Fungus for fire starting, so I decided to see if some common fungus I found would work. I actually think this is some type of bracket fungus, but what do I know? So I found it works really well for starting fires when charred, not so well in it’s natural state. I have since learned that it may be good for preserving and transporting a fire in it’s uncharred state, since it will smolder a very long time.
